What are pintxos anyway?

Pintxos are to Basque country what tapas are to Southern Spain. Small snacks, usually no more than a few bites, meant to be eaten standing up while socializing with your people. Pintxos can be as simple as a piece of cheese on bread, or as complex as cocina miniatura, mini versions of fully composed fine dining dishes.

At Txow Txow, we serve a menu of seasonally inspired pintxos and a few rotating raciones, or larger dishes meant for sharing. In each dish we aim to capture in a few bites the intersection of Basque cuisine and New Orleans flavor. We aim to marry the ingredient-obsessed cooking of the Basque kitchen with the agricultural bounty of the Gulf South, through dishes inspired by the culinary creativity of modern pintxo bars.
